Southbound Orange Avenue closes all day Sunday, Oct. 25, for Calle Orange. OBT has night lane closures Oct. 25-29, and Magnolia Avenue closures resume Nov. 2.
Last checked Oct. 23, 2026. This page is refreshed weekly. Facts come from the City of Orlando road closures list, the Florida Department of Transportation’s District Five projects site and FL511.
Orlando drivers deal with three layers of road work: state projects on I-4, Orange Blossom Trail and other state roads, run by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT); city projects on city streets; and private construction that closes lanes next to building sites. For live conditions, use FL511, by app or by dialing 511. The city’s Transportation Department answers at 407-246-2281.

State projects (FDOT)
I-4 at Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A). Since April 7, 2026, all eastbound I-4 lanes have been shifted toward the median for 1.4 miles south of Sand Lake Road, onto a newly built bridge, while crews tear down and rebuild the old eastbound bridge. FDOT said the shift would stay about 10 months; the city lists it through Jan. 31, 2027. Drivers from westbound S.R. 528 (Beachline Expressway) use a modified ramp to reach the Sand Lake exit. A new loop ramp from westbound Sand Lake Road to southbound Turkey Lake Road opened in May 2026, and the whole interchange project is due to finish in 2027, its project page says.
U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail), S.R. 50 to S.R. 414. A $28.9 million safety project adding bike lanes in places, filling sidewalk gaps, rebuilding curb ramps, narrowing travel lanes by a foot to slow traffic, widening turn lanes and upgrading signals and lighting. The open median at Mott Avenue becomes a directional median. FDOT lists intermittent single-lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, through Thursday, Oct. 29, at these spots:
| Where on Orange Blossom Trail | Work |
|---|---|
| Clarcona Ocoee Road to Rose Avenue | Paving |
| Rosemond Avenue to Clarcona Road | Paving |
| Silver Star Road to Princeton Street | Paving |
| Silver Star Road to Rosemond Avenue | Paving |
| At John Young Parkway | Paving |
| At All American Boulevard | Signal work |
FDOT expects the whole project to finish in early 2027.
S.R. 438 (Silver Star Road) intersection improvements, a $2.6 million project adding signals and a restricted crossing U-turn at Le Havre Boulevard and Coast Line Drive. FDOT reports no lane closures this week.
I-4 wrong-way driver detection, a $6.2 million project installing detection systems from Sand Lake Road to the Seminole County westbound rest area. No lane closures this week.
Expressways (S.R. 408 and S.R. 528). The state’s work zone feed lists single-lane closures on S.R. 408 (East-West Expressway) for project 408-315 during the week of Oct. 25, and multilane closures on S.R. 528 (Beachline Expressway) for project 528-168 the same week. The Central Florida Expressway Authority is also painting the S.R. 408 bridge and toll structure at the eastbound Andes Avenue off-ramp from Monday, Oct. 26, to Thursday, Oct. 29, with law enforcement on site. Check FL511 for the exact spot and hours before you drive.
FDOT’s Orlando project list has every state project in the city, including those still in design.
