Last checked Oct. 9, 2026. This page is updated each year. The 2027 details have not been announced, so the facts below describe the 2026 event, from the City of Orlando’s Fireworks at the Fountain announcement. We will update it when the city sets next year’s plans.

Orlando’s Independence Day show is Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park downtown, put on by the City of Orlando. In 2026 the park opened for festivities at 4 p.m., and the fireworks started at 9:10 p.m. The city’s event page is orlando.gov/fireworks; City Hall answers at 407-246-2121.

What this means for you

  • Arrive early for a good spot on the lawn; the city said so in 2026.
  • Plan to park in a downtown garage and walk, or ride the free LYMMO circulator.
  • Four streets around the lake close to cars; see the list below.
  • Bring water, sunscreen and an umbrella. Lightning can delay or cancel the show.

The 2026 schedule

The 49th annual show was a Semiquincentennial celebration for the nation’s 250th anniversary, the city said, with a fireworks score written with the Orlando Concert Band.

Time What happened
4 to 7:30 p.m. Festivities, live entertainment, a family zone, local vendors and an America 250 photo spot
8 p.m. Orlando Concert Band patriotic performance
9:10 p.m. Fireworks synchronized to a custom score
10 p.m. Event ends

Where to watch

The fireworks are launched over Lake Eola, so the park lawns around the lake are the main viewing area. The park’s address is 195 N. Rosalind Ave. The city said in 2026 that the best spots go to those who arrive early.

Parking and getting there

The city recommended these options in 2026:

  • Downtown garages and surface lots. There are many within walking distance; see the city’s garages and lots page.
  • The free LYMMO downtown circulator, for anyone parking outside the immediate event area.
  • LYNX buses, ride-share, carpooling and bicycles.

Road closures

To hold the event safely, the city closed these streets around the park to vehicle traffic in 2026:

  • Eola Drive, from Robinson Street to East Washington Street.
  • East Robinson Street, from Rosalind Avenue to Summerlin Avenue.
  • Rosalind Avenue, from South Street to Robinson Street. It closed at 2 p.m.
  • Central Boulevard, from Rosalind Avenue to Eola Drive.

Next year’s closures will be posted on the city’s road closures list and in our road construction and closures guide.

Weather

The city watches the weather throughout the event. If lightning is detected nearby, it may delay or cancel the show, and it posts updates on its social media channels and over the park’s public address system.

Fireworks at home

Florida law allows consumer fireworks on three designated holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and Independence Day, July 4, under section 791.08 of the Florida Statutes. The statute says it does not override local rules, and homeowners associations and apartment leases can set their own.

Other July 4 shows

Other cities and the theme parks around Orlando hold their own shows. Their dates and times are set each year by the organizers; we list the ones near Orlando in our things to do this month guide each July.
