Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants in Orlando

Orlando’s Mexican and Tex-Mex places cluster downtown around Orange Avenue and Church Street, along East Colonial Drive and South Orange Avenue toward SoDo, and on the west side along Kirkman Road and the Millenia area. Tijuana Flats has three restaurants inside the city limits, and Agave Azul and Tin & Taco have two each.

How we made this list. We started with OpenStreetMap records inside Orlando’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, and added locations from the chains’ own store pages, checking each address against the city boundary. We checked every place against its own website on Oct. 10, 2026. Birria 1983, El Potro and Taco Rio have no working website of their own; they are here because the state inspected them between July and September 2026. Restaurants on the theme park resorts and inside hotels are left out, as are Chuy’s on South Semoran Boulevard, Hot Taco Street Taqueria and Tako Cheena, whose sites would not load for us. Agave Azul Cocina Mexicana is a family-owned Central Florida group founded in 1998, with a menu of traditional Mexican dishes and modern twists, its site says. Two of its restaurants are inside the city limits: on South Kirkman Road and on Gateway Village Circle near the airport. Both take online orders for takeout.

Birria 1983 on West Church Street downtown has no working website of its own. The state’s inspection records list it at this address, last inspected in September 2026.

Chipotle Mexican Grill on East Colonial Drive, near Primrose Drive, serves burritos and bowls for dine-in, pickup and delivery, with a weekday afternoon happy hour in the restaurant, its page says.

Del Taco on Grand National Drive, off International Drive, calls its food “Better Mex” and offers drive-thru, pickup, delivery and catering. Its hours run into the early morning.

El Potro Mexican Restaurant on South Kirkman Road has no website of its own. The state’s inspection records list it at this address, last inspected in July 2026.

Moe’s Southwest Grill on Conroy Road, near the Mall at Millenia, serves burritos, quesadillas and tacos built from more than 20 ingredients, with free chips and salsa, its page says. It has curbside pickup and catering.

Solita Tacos & Margaritas on South Orange Avenue downtown is a sit-down restaurant that takes reservations. Its site lists a weekday happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m., a Taco and Tequila Tuesday and a weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Taco Bell on Hiawassee Road serves tacos and burritos at a drive-thru that stays open late, with dine-in and delivery as well.

Taco Rio Mexican Kitchen on South Semoran Boulevard has no website of its own. The state’s inspection records list it at this address, last inspected in August 2026.

Tijuana Flats is a Tex-Mex chain whose menu lists burritos and tacos made “Tijuana Style,” served with tortilla chips. Three of its restaurants are inside the city limits: College Park on Edgewater Drive, East Colonial Drive, and Pineloch on South Orange Avenue. All three list the same hours.

Tin & Taco is an Orlando taco shop that opened in 2017 and calls itself Florida’s home of the crispy cheese crust taco. It lists two shops, in SoDo and downtown, carries hard-to-find craft beers and takes catering orders.
